Arlington Students Walk the Bridge to Workforce Success

In this interview, sponsored by Arlington Public Schools (apseagles.org), business teacher Shawna Koger explains how high school students in this unusual community prepare for career success.  This interview focuses on “workforce development” and particularly, the value of making well informed financial decisions early in life.

Koger looks at the “whole child,” emphasizing vocational exploration early in students’ career education. Koger also explains the importance of teaching proactivity in the workplace as well as contributing to the community as one’s career evolves. Arlington’s schools’ teach the basics of personal finance in a noteworthy fashion, earning certification, awards and national prominence.
